A Few New Looks

The last few days we've had a few new looks.  The first was King Cadence and Princess Ali.  I think he got this idea from an episode of  "Go, Diego, Go" where there are some gorilla kings that need to be saved.  For days he has been telling us he is a king and then finally he asked for a crown.  And, of course, Ali needed one, too.  His king outfit is complete with crown, king gloves, king boots and a scepter.

Next, we thought instead of a king, that Cade would like to try to be a karate ninja master warrior.  He opted to settle for just a regular kid taking karate.

That's right.  Uncle Kirk is kind enough to let us give Cade a trial run on taking karate at the studio.  He usually doesn't start kids until they're 5, but since Cade is an unusually well behaved 4-year-old, we're going to see if he can handle taking classes.  Tuesday was his first day.  He did pretty well while he was working one-on-one with Uncle Kirk, but otherwise he just stood there with his fingers in his mouth a lot.  Tyler worked at home with him this morning practicing some things and he did MUCH better tonight.  He did warm ups with the kids, stood at attention and even got in his karate stance and threw some punches.  I was so proud of him!  I really love this picture of him practicing at home with Tyler.  He's wearing one of my headbands (because that's what warriors do).

Ali also has another new look.  Jana was trimming my hair the other day and we were discussing what to do about Ali's mullet.  Deciding there was no way to even it all out unless we shaved her bald, we decided to just give her a little trim.  I'm kind of sad her little curls are gone, but I think it will be better in the long run.  Hopefully her hair will start getting thicker now.
She was so good while getting her hair done.  I don't know if she was still because she had just watched me get my hair cut, or if she was too freaked out to move, but either way, it worked.

(I think she was mid-yawn.  Pretty relaxed.)
Ta-Da!

(and, yes, that is hair spray.)

Wow! Cade is already a master ninja by the look of that kick. And Ali's hair looks really cute. McKenzie's hair is growing really long in somes spots, but not others so we might have to give her a trim by her birthday :-(
